A figure sits in the shadow, turned away from the light spills across the floor, gazing not upon the world outside but at a painting of it. Open World explores the ambivalence between our intentions and actions, and the tender complicity in our own limited knowledge and borderless imagination. This duality is echoed in the two characters of the Chinese title (旷. 界), which suggests both open vastness and defining border, together signifying an open world.
